THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA is situated in the central part of the Balkan peninsula.

Its territory is divided into two main natural geographic regions. In the North, Vojvodina’s plains have extremely favourable conditions for agriculture and the production of cereals, fruits and vegetables. On the other hand, hilly mountains regions offer a diversity of climate conditions that are beneficial to a variety of fruits, medicinal plants, farming and beekeeping practices.

The whole surface of the Republic of Serbia consists of 70% of farmable land and 30% of forests and hunting areas, including a high percentage of ecological areas which are extremely beneficial to organic agriculture.
